Welcome to One Young World Switzerland!
In providing our services, the Swiss association (Verein) One Young World Switzerland (hereinafter “OYW Switzerland” or “we” or “us”) collects elements of information about you when we engage with you. This includes when you attend a One Young World event (physically or virtually), subscribe to our newsletter(s), or engage with us in any other way, at which point you become a Member of the One Young World Switzerland Movement. We only use this information in the context of providing our services, which include building a community of young leaders, arranging our Annual One Young World Switzerland National Congress, attending an Annual One Young World Switzerland Summit, coordinating other global events, and promoting individuals who are members of the Movement, and their work.
This Policy applies to all individuals who engage with One Young World Switzerland and share their information with us. When we collect data from you, we are subject to the Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP), which applies to the processing of personal data in the context of the activities of an establishment of a controller or a processor in Switzerland. We are responsible as ‘controller’ of that personal information for the purposes of those laws.

Who is primarily responsible for your personal information?

We collect personal data about you from third parties: We may receive information about you for instance if you provide health data to a COVID-19 testing programme which shares your COVID-19 test results with us, or your employer, professional body, institution, education establishment signs you up for an event, programme, or other opportunity.

Personal Data we collect about you
- We may collect and use the following personal data about you:
- Your name and contact information, including email address and telephone number, job title and company/organisation details
- Information to enable us to check and verify your identity, e.g. email address and telephone number
- Your activity across our different policy & working groups (attendance of meetings, contribution to various deliverables, emails sent to lists, etc.)
- In relation to specific projects, we may collect information including your nationality, geographical location such as city, region, or country; gender, age, sector of employment.
- Your responses to surveys, competitions and promotion of events.
- Any special requirements or points of interest you indicate during your registration to events.
How is your Personal Data is collected?
We collect most of this personal data directly from you—in person, by telephone, text or email and via our website. In particular, we may collect information in the following cases:
1. If you visit us through One Young World Switzerland’s website available at www.oneyoungworld.ch (“Site”) or contact our staff members or volunteers directly:
- We may collect your personal data when you contact us with individual questions via the contact form on our Site or by contacting our staff directly through the email addresses provided on our Site.
- We may collect your personal data when you contact us for the registration of One Young World Switzerland events

2. If you are an external stakeholder seeking information about One Young World Switzerland and our activities:

- We may use your details to contact you about our activities, programmes and events and to organise such activities, programmes and events.

Personal data may be held at our offices and those of our third-party agencies, service providers, representatives and agents as described above.

How long will we keep your Personal Data?
We will keep your personal data while you are part of the One Young World Switzerland Community or we are providing services to you. Thereafter, we will keep your personal data for as long as is necessary:

- to show that we treated you fairly;
- to keep records required by law.
We will not retain your personal data for longer than necessary for the purposes set out in this notice.

How do we keep your Data secure?
